Downtown Off-Leash Area Study

In July 2019, O2 Planning + Design was retained to conduct a Downtown Off-leash Area Study for The City of Calgary. Building upon the direction of The City’s Off-leash Area Management Plan, the intent of the study is to analyze the existing and projected use of off-leash areas in downtown, review best practices for downtown off-leash areas in other municipalities, and provide recommendations to guide the development of future off-leash areas in the city’s core.

The study included engagement with the public and stakeholders to get a better understanding of how residents of downtown access and use existing downtown off-leash areas and what features they would like to see in future off-leash areas.
